The County Sheriffs of Colorado will award a $500 scholarship to a deserving Logan County student next spring. Logan County 4-H announces a community service project for the Leadership Development Conference and Youth Fest Conference. They are looking for new or gently worn shoe donations to help develop and sustain micro-businesses in more than 25 under-developed nations around the world. The families that receive the shoes will have little to no income or livelihood. The goal is to collect 3 bags of 25 shoes by mid-February 2017. Shoes need to be rubber-banded together and placed in clear plastic bags. Donations may be dropped off at Logan County Extension Office, 508 S. 10th Ave. in STerling. The Morgan Board of County Commissioners will convene a citizen's advisory committee to develop a plan for Morgan County Justice Center whose capabilities have been exceeded by the agencies who occupy it. The Commissioners are looking for interested citizens who would like to participate in the planning, financing, and construction of the project. Sterling Public Library will host a Brown Bag Lunch on Thursday, February 16th beginning at 12:10PM. This month, Lindsey Lorenzo will talk about how yoga can improve our daily lives.
